Welcome Debra Steinhauer to McAllister Yoga Program

Hi Yogis,

I would like to introduce you to Debra Steinhauer. She will be offering yoga classes at McAllister Center in 2013. She is a certified yoga teacher and practices yoga with me at McAllister Center.

Here’s a little bit about her:

Originally drawn to yoga as a way to quiet the mind, I’ve been studying and practicing yoga since 1997. In February 2012, I completed my yoga teacher training at All People Yoga Center in Indianapolis and am registered with Yoga Alliance. The style of yoga I teach blends the influences of the many wonderful teachers with whom I have studied.

She will be offering Beginner, All-Level, and Continuing yoga.  Please refer the the schedule page for more information

Peace and joy,

Shari

Yin/Yang Yoga Class Sat. 12/1 10am-12pm Morton Center

Hi Yogi,

Join us for a Yin/Yang Yoga Class.   Practicing Yin and Yang styles together complement each other. The long passive holds of a Yin practice help to prepare the body, mind and spirit for the more active Yang Practice.  We’ll end with another sweet Yin segment to soothe and calm the body, mind & spirit.
  • Sat. Dec. 1
  • 10am – 12pm
  • Morton Community Center.
Please call 765-775-5120 to reserve your spot.
Peace and Joy,
Shari

Thank You Yogis!

Thank you to our wonderful and generous yoga community for their donations to the Red Cross Disaster Relief.

We had a full house at our yoga class.  As always we want the benefits of our practice to ripple out beyond our mat into our community and out to the world.

Peace and Joy!

Yoga Reading – UBUNTU “I am because we are”

We could take a lesson from these children.

“An anthropologist proposed a game to children in an African tribe. He put a basket full of fruit near a tree and told the children that whoever got there first won the sweet fruits. When he told them to run, they all took each others hands and ran together, then sat together enjoying their treats.

When he asked them why they had run like that when one could have had all the fruits for himself, they said, ‘UBUNTU, how can one of us be happy if all the other ones are sad?’ (‘UBUNTU’ in the Xhosa culture means: ‘I am because we are.)”
